The East of England Plan requires completion of a minimum 33,000 new homes to be provided within a 14km radius of Norwich by 2021. As a result, South Norfolk Council is required to identify land to accommodate the completion of a minimum 13,150 new homes in its part of the 14km radius area, which includes all of Wymondham, by an extended plan date of 2026.
Development proposals on land to the North East of Wymondham are being prepared which will provide a range of new homes, and employment areas to meet the future housing needs and growth in employment, and at the same time providing new services and investment in infrastructure to support the future prosperity of the town.
